I consider this animation one of significant achievements, highlighting my ability to collaborate effectively. KIDS CONFERENCE at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale is a prominent church event that offers children an engaging opportunity to learn about the story of Jesus through interactive theatre performances over three nights. In partnership with one of Family Ministry's leaders, we developed this trailer, beginning with initial storyboard thumbnails and progressing to detailed keyframes created in Procreate Dreams, which served as the introduction for each evening's presentation.
During the collaboration, we focused on creating the main antagonist of the story: the golden cow. We envisioned it as an imposing animated head projected onto a screen, providing a dramatic face-off for the characters in the final act. This was brought to life through a 2D animated format using Procreate Dreams, adding a unique visual element to the performance. The golden cow served as a powerful symbol of conflict, enhancing the overall narrative experience.
STORYBOARD ANIMATIC AND CONCEPTS
The 2d characters animated in the trailer were directly inspired by the actual actors performing the live event on stage. So discovering the character designs began with creating thumbnail sketches of the kid actors' faces. The overall theme takes place in a 50's setting so the character drew inspiration from the clothing that reflected that time period.
